Project X

Project X Movie Poster
The film begins with a disclaimer from Warner Bros. by "apologizing" to the citizens of North Pasadena.
Thomas (Thomas Mann) is turning seventeen, and his friends Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown) are planning to throw a huge birthday bash at Thomas' house, and to increase their popularity among their schoolmates. As Thomas' parents are going away for the weekend for their anniversary, Thomas' father lays down the rules, which include having a max of five people at their house, not to drive his expensive Mercedes, and no one is allowed in his office. Thomas is first reluctant to have the party at his house because of these rules, but Costa encourages him to have the party. Costa even hires AV-student Dax (Dax Flame), to record the events. Throughout their day at school, Costa and J.B. remind everyone about the party using text messaging and spreading it by word of mouth. Thomas also decides to invite Alexis (Alexis Knapp), the hottest girl at school. Thomas also talks to his best female friend Kirby (Kirby Bliss Blanton), whom he has a crush on.
As the trio plan for the party, Costa lures Thomas and J.B. to buy marijuana for the party from T-Rick (Rick Shapiro), an ex-military soldier living in a dilapidated house. As T-Rick goes to get the weed for them, Costa steals a gnome displaying the middle finger and gives it to Dax to put in the car. As the three leave T-Rick's home, T-Rick discovers his gnome stolen, and chases them relentlessly as they escape in Thomas' mini-van which he received as a gift from his parents, destroying the windshield in the process.
The party starts and only Thomas, Costa, J.B. and Kirby are at the house. Thomas worries that no one will come until suddenly, cars start pulling up in the neighborhood. The party becomes an instant hit as many people begin to show up. Thomas sets up the party so that it will be limited to only the backyard and poolhouse, with the doors to the house locked and will only be accessible to Thomas, Costa and J.B., which will be guarded by two child security guards (Brady Hender and Nick Nervies). But as more and more people show up, the party gets moved into the house, which infuriates Thomas. Thomas begins questioning others at the party as to how they heard about the party, which leads to Costa revealing that he put out ads on Craigslist and on a local radio station to attract more people.
During the party, many events happen; the gnome is smashed, which turns out contains large amounts of ecstasy, which everyone (including Thomas, Costa and J.B.) take. The police show up, after a neighbor complains about the noise, but later leave as the party guests are quiet in the backyard, making them believe the party is over. Thomas makes out with Kirby, and reveals that he loves her. Later on, Alexis shows up to the party, and flirts with Thomas throughout the night, until she brings Thomas to his room to have sex, which is broken up by Kirby, who then runs off from the party. With all of the attention surrounding the party, news coverage of the party begins with news choppers flying over the house. In addition, a dwarf guest (Martin Klebba) drives Thomas' dad's Mercedes into the pool, after being put into an oven earlier by other party-goers.
The police return, and are quickly overwhelmed by the party guests. They are forced to retreat and comeback with a SWAT team, and decide to let the party burn out before moving in. This goes well, until it gets interrupted by T-Rick, who shows up to the neighborhood sporting a flamethrower in an attempt to reclaim his already smashed gnome, begins torching up trees around the neighborhood and at cars parked on the road, ending the party. He is stopped by police who shoot his flamethrower pack which later blows up inside a mobile home that he ran into for cover. The trio (with no any other option left since the house is destroyed), along with Dax, the two security guards and Milo, Thomas' dog, run away from the scene as many of the party attendees flee from the cops. The neighborhood is left in flames until firefighter choppers douse the flames, damaging property.
They wake up on the bleachers of their high school, as the police continue hovering over the neighborhood. Costa lets the security guards go, but does not pay them because they did a "shit job" of watching the house. Knowing that he will have to take the blame for the party and the destruction to the neighborhood, Thomas lets Costa, J.B. and Dax leave. When his parents do come home, his father commends him for the party because he thought he was a loser, until hearing about how many people showed up to the party and what happened, but still punishes him, as he will be using Thomas' college funds to pay for the damages, along with finding out how he will pay the rest of the damages.
The next day at school, Thomas, Costa and J.B. are cheered on by students for throwing an awesome party. Thomas is also able to rekindle his relationship with Kirby. In the epilogue, it is revealed that Thomas was convicted on six different charges, Costa is able to get an indictment on his charges because of his expensive lawyer, and J.B. gets his charges dropped because his parents pleaded that he is a special needs person, which would make it difficult for the court to charge him. But he is forced to take the short bus every day to/from school. The film ends with Costa being interviewed by Jillian Reynolds, where he cordially invites everyone to his next party, which he promises to be better than his last.

Gone

Jill Conway (Amanda Seyfried) is a young woman who lives in Portland with her sister, recovering alcoholic Molly (Emily Wickersham). One year prior, Jill was kidnapped by a serial killer who abandoned her in a hole in the forest, where she found human remains. When her abductor descended into the hole to kill her, Jill was able to knock him unconscious with a bone and climb his rope and return to civilization. However, the police didn't find the hole and discovered that Jill had been committed to a psychiatric institution for several years after her parents' death. Believing that the abduction only happened in Jill's head, they closed the case.
One day, after returning home from work at a local diner, where she and her friend Sharon Ames (Jennifer Carpenter) are generously tipped by a regular customer about to move out of town, Jill finds Molly gone and is unable to reach her boyfriend, Billy (Sebastian Stan). Knowing that Molly wouldn't leave the house with Jill absent and that she had an important test the following day, Jill becomes convinced that the man who took her has now captured Molly and heads to the police station to ask for help, but Sargent Powers (Daniel Sunjata) and Detective Erica Lonsdale (Katherine Moennig) dismiss her claims and promise to look into the case after a few days, but Jill claims it will be too late then. Before she leaves, newcomer Detective Peter Hood (Wes Bentley) pulls her aside and tells her he believes her, giving Jill his card in case she needs help.
Billy calls Jill and tells her that he hasn't heard from Molly, and that she didn't show up at the exam. Jill interrogates her neighbors and finds out a van with a locksmith's name parked in front of her house in the middle of the night and honked several times. Using the neighbors' description of the van, Jill finds the company it belongs to and heads there, where she questions the van's driver - who is also the company owner's son - about Molly's whereabouts. He claims to not know anything about it, and Jill feigns leaving in order to break into the van, where she finds a receipt for a hardware store and duct tape. She holds the driver at gunpoint and forces him to reveal that he allowed a stranger named "Digger" to rent the van the night before. Jill then leaves.
The locksmith's son reports this to the police, and Lieutenant Ray Bozeman (Michael Paré) orders Powers and Lonsdale to capture Jill, as she is a liability and has no permission to carry a gun. Hood tries to convince Jill to meet with him so he can help her, but she believes it to be a set-up so Powers and Lonsdale can arrest her and refuses. Meanwhile, Jill goes to the hardware store and learns from the owner that Digger's real name is Jim McCoy and that he's staying at a local rundown apartment nicknamed "The Royal Hotel." Jill heads there and breaks into McCoy's house, where she finds more duct tape, pet food (which she was given by her kidnapper), and matches from the diner where she works, the Lucky Star.
Jill visits Sharon and learns that McCoy is the generous tipper from the night before. Sharon gives Jill his phone number and she leaves. On the way out, she's located by the police and chased to an alley, where she manages to escape and return to Sharon's house, where Sharon begrudgingly agrees to let Jill borrow her car. Jill then calls McCoy, who confirms he's her abductor and implies he knows where Molly is. He orders her to go into Forest Park to find out the truth. Jill ignores the pleas of Powers and Lonsdale, who find her through Billy, and ventures into the woods, where she eventually finds the hole.
McCoy emerges from a small alcove he dug nearby and throws Jill inside the hole, intending to kill her with a knife he carved out of the piece of bone Jill used to escape, but she draws her gun and shoots him in the chest.
Jill climbs back up and forces McCoy to reveal that Molly was under their house the whole time, and he only used her to lure Jill into a trap. She then pours the kerosene of a lamp McCoy left for her into the hole and burns McCoy alive before returning to the city, where she reunites with Molly and tells her McCoy is dead. Jill then lies to the police and tells them it was all in her imagination. They leave, and shortly thereafter, Jill sends an anonymous tip of where to find the hole, as well as pictures of McCoy's victims that she had found near the hole. Bozeman calls Powers and tells him to re-open the case.

Act of Valor

The story begins with a brief narrative by Chief Dave explaining about heroism and brotherhood along with a video of SEAL Team 7 performing a practice HALO parachute jump.
In the Philippines, an ice cream truck drives through the streets to a school where the American ambassador arrives to pick up his kid. The ambassador and his son approach the ice cream truck where it immediately explodes due to suicide bombing.
At the same time, in South America, two CIA Agents Walter Ross (Nestor Serrano) and Morales (Roselyn Sánchez), who are suspicious about the suicide bombing that killed the ambassador, are suddenly ambushed in their apartment by three of Christo’s thugs. Ross was killed while Morales was abducted. Morales was taken to a compound in the jungle where the torturer is speaking on a cell phone with Christo.
Back state-side, two Navy SEALs, Lieutenant Rorke and Chief Dave are at a bar. Rorke explains that his wife is pregnant and Dave is proud for him, saying he’ll be a good dad. Lt. Rorke and Chief Dave hang out at the beach with their families and their other SEAL members; Weimy, their sniper, Ray, the communications specialist, Sonny, their EOD operator, Ajay, a former Muy Thai fighter, Mikey, a 20-year-veteran, and Senior Chief Miller. Soon, the Navy SEALs get word of Morales’ kidnapping. The Navy believes Morales was captured because she was working on a possible link between two terrorists named Christo (Alex Veadov) and Abu Shabal (Jason Cottle).
The seven Navy SEALs make a HALO jump to Morales’ position while the SWCC’s set up their crafts along the river and sending up a UAV where they spot a possible enemy QRF in the area. The SEALs quietly make their way to the compound where they can hear Morales being tortured, so they decide to act fast. Lt. Rorke and Weimy stay outside where they snipe all the terrorists outside while the other five enter the building. There, one of the SEALs, Mikey, gets shot in the face but the rest are able to find and rescue Morales, along with recovering the cell phone. The enemy QRF are suddenly spotted arriving so the SEALs pile into an enemy truck where they drive out of the compound, pick up Rorke and Weimy, and speed to the river where they are met by the SWCCs. The SWCCs recover the SEALs, kill most of the enemy QRF, and escape.
In Ukraine, Abu Shabal goes to meet a contact who is making explosive vests. They explain that they’re lightweight, concealable, and use 500 ceramic ball bearings that cannot be picked up by metal detectors. The plan is for a group of suicide bombers to use these vests on key U.S. cities; this will cause a U.S. economic collapse and anarchy.
Later, Christo and Shabal meet. Christo explains that the CIA is looking at him and he has to go underground. Shabal is enraged, saying he has trained people for a year and now he is now bailing. Christo says that is not true; he is keeping his word but he will not be directly involved per se. Shabal will have to use Christo's associates. Shabal is less than convinced and still thinks Christo is going back on their plans.
On the U.S. coast, Senior Chief Miller explains to Lt. Rorke and Chief Dave that Mikey is fine but will lose the eye. In addition, the cell phone they recovered explains the Shabal/Christo link; Cristo is a smuggler and Shabal is a bomber, they plan on smuggling suicide bombers throughout the United States. Before that, they learn of a possible meeting to take place in Somalia. Senior Chief Miller sends Ajay and Ray to Somalia to recon and stake-out the meeting while the rest wait in Mexico for a possible strike.
In Somalia, Ajay and Ray spy on the meeting between Shabal and his suicide bombers, where they learn of underground tunnels from Mexico to the United States. The two SEALs finish their recon and leave.
Meanwhile, out in the sea, Christo is aboard a yacht, with escort gunboats, throwing a party. Suddenly, the SWCC’s arrive and destroy the gunboats and a SEAL squad boards the yacht and captures Christo. Once secured, Senior Chief Miller boards the yacht and interrogates Christo. Christo explains about the ball-bearings explosive vests and that they’ll bomb several key cities.
With intel collected, they find a village on the Mexican coast where most of the suicide bombers are being housed. Lt. Rorke, Chief Dave, and many other SEALs make an amphibious landing at night and approach the village. During the raid, they manage to kill most of the bombers in a fire fight and re-take the village. However, they learn that Shabal wasn’t there and that he took many of the bombers with him to a milk factory.
The U.S. Marines relieve the SEALs at the village at sunrise. The SEALs leave the village where they link-up with the Mexican Special Forces who take them to the milk factory in the city.
The milk factory and the surrounding area are guarded by the drug cartel, but the SEALS and Mexican SOF manage to sneak in, via dump trucks, to the milk factory. In the factory, the SEALs make their way through killing most of the bombers. Along the way, Lt. Rorke sees a grenade drop to the ground, so he sacrifices himself by jumping on it, killing him. Chief Dave continues on and manages to kill the rest of the bombers and Shabal while being seriously wounded in the process.
At home, Lt. Rorke is buried while Dave survived his multiple gunshots. The film ends with the list of U.S. Navy SEALs who were killed in action since 9/11 and that the film was dedicated to them.

The Lorax

Ted Wiggins, an idealistic 12-year-old boy, lives in "Thneed-Ville", a walled city that, aside from the citizens, is completely artificial. He sets out to find the one thing that will win him the affection of Audrey, the girl of his dreams, who wishes to see a real tree. Ted's energetic grandmother suggests he speak with the Once-ler on the matter, and he discovers that their city has been closed off from the outside world, which is a contaminated and empty wasteland. The Once-ler agrees to tell Ted about the trees if he listens to his story over multiple visits. Ted agrees, even after the mayor of Thneed-Ville, Mr. O'Hare, the greedy proprietor of a bottled oxygen company, confronts the boy and pressures him to stay in town.
Over the visits, the Once-ler recounts the story of how he met the Lorax, a grumpy yet charming creature who serves as guardian of the land he arrived in and actively resists his logging until the Once-ler agrees to desist. When the young businessman introduces a revolutionary invention from the native Truffula Tree's tufts, the thneed, it eventually becomes a major success and the Once-ler's family is brought in to participate in the business. Keeping his promise at first, Once-ler continues thneed production by harvesting the tufts themselves in a sustainable manner. Unfortunately, his greedy and lazy relatives convinced him to resume logging as a more efficient gathering method, and the destruction of the forest spirals into a mass overproduction. Flush with wealth, the Once-ler rationalized his short sighted greed into an arrogant self-righteousness that even co-opts the helpless protests of the Lorax for his own ends. As a result, he completely depleted the forest while making the region uninhabitable with his business' pollution. With that, the Once-ler was left ruined and abandoned by his family and became a recluse with the creation and isolation of Ted's town that came under Mr. O'Hare's control. Eventually, the Lorax sends the wildlife (and the Once-ler's horse) away before departing himself, leaving a stonecut word, "Unless."
At the end of the story, Ted is inspired by the Once-ler's gift of the last Truffula Seed to plant it to remind his town of the importance of nature. Unfortunately, O'Hare is determined to not have trees undercut his business and takes heavy handed steps such as destroying Audrey's nature paintings and forcibly searching Ted's room for the seed. Ted is undeterred and enlists his family and Audrey to help plant the seed. O'Hare and his employees pursue the dissidents until they manage to elude him and reach the town center. Unfortunately, their attempt to plant the seed is interrupted by O'Hare who rallies the population to stop them. To convince them otherwise, Ted takes an earthmover and rams down a section of the city wall to reveal the environmental destruction outside. Horrified at the sight and inspired by Ted's conviction, the crowd defies O'Hare and the seed is planted.
At the Once-ler's house, the Truffula forest is beginning to recover with the Once-ler's participation and the Lorax returns, pleased that his friend is undoing the harm he caused. The Once-ler, overcome with joy that his friend has returned, embraces him as they walk towards his house.
